SUPERVISION

AISGA has a supervision committee which looks at supervision standards and courses for members in Ireland. While AISGA is not a training body, we are linked into other organizations and professionals in this field which could benefit members. For more information please contact the membership secretary at info@aisga.org.

SUPERVISION COURSES

The Milltown Institute in conjunction with: the National University Ireland, NUI offers Graduate Higher Diploma courses on SUPERVISORY PRACTICE, leading to Masters in Ministry and Doctorate of Ministry.

Supervision is a very important means of maintaining good standards of practice and taking care of oneself in the midst of the demands of ministry. This award will provide a unique opportunity to integrate the experience of supervision with everyday involvement in the caring professions, within a creative learning environment, and, with the support of expert and experienced staff.

  • The Graduate Diploma in Supervisory Practice will present the purpose, nature, dynamics and modes of supervisory practice
  • The Masters in Supervisory Practice extends the above theoretical foundations into the realm of acquiring the practical skills of supervision through intensive specialist workshops and supervised peer learning groups.
  • The Doctorate of Ministry in Supervisory Practice enables those who have completed the previous awards to continue their training by undertaking a piece of action research in the area of supervisory practice.
